The DLR-Idea Award for sustainable innovation this year was received by our team, consisting of Prof. Dr. Barbara Milow, Dr. Kathirvel Ganesan, Philipp Niemeyer, Dr. René Tannert and Dr. Pascal Vöpel, for the concept of upcycling biopolymer aerogel as material for packaging, a possible alternative to polystyrol.
